Join the Mindfulness Lab!
We are currently NOT accepting applications for the 2024-25 academic year.
Doctoral Students
Are you interested in joining our lab at the University of Pittsburgh for graduate studies? Dr. Galla seeks creative and dedicated individuals passionate about mindfulness, wellness, and human development.
To excel in our laboratory, applicants should possess a strong foundation in psychology and research methodology. Prior research experience, particularly within a psychology laboratory, is essential. Undergraduate coursework in psychology and human development provides a crucial intellectual framework for graduate studies. A solid grasp of statistics is also vital, as our research relies heavily on quantitative methods. While prior training in data management and computer programming is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite for admission. Strong reasoning and writing abilities are indispensable for conducting and effectively communicating scientific research. Please highlight these skills in your application.
For more information about graduate study in the lab, please contact Dr. Galla. He has affiliations in both Applied Developmental Psychology and Cognitive Psychology. Please visit the department websites for further information on applying to the doctoral program.
Research Assistants
Our lab welcomes undergraduates and master's students to assist with ongoing research projects. If you are interested in joining the lab as a research assistant, please contact Dr. Galla. Interested students should plan to devote 8 to 10 hours per week in the lab. Research assistants will get hands-on experience in all stages of the research process.
